Welcome to Jutulheimen - Vågå bygdamuseum

Named after a Norwegian folktale  «Jutulen og Johannes Blessom» Jutulheimen is situated on a hill above the entrance to the cave where Jutulen live. The open-air museum consist of nine buildings placed around a central courtyard, among the buildings you find a smithy, a barn, two houses and a storehouse.

In summer our skilled guide give tours and tell stories, from past lives at farms just like this, that leaves you wondering if even an once of it were true. You can explore several aspects of daily life in Vågå from the 18th century until today in exhibitions located in the houses scattered around on the area.
